Your privacy matters to us. Siléar Coffee is a personal coffee tracking app designed to work entirely on your device. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We have written it in plain language so you can make an informed decision about using the app.
Siléar Coffee is an independent mobile application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to the developer of Siléar Coffee. References to "you" or "your" refer to you as a user of the app.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, please contact us at the address listed in the Contact section below.
All data you enter into Siléar Coffee is stored locally on your device. This includes:
This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use a share or export feature.
We may collect the following limited technical information to help us improve the app:
If you purchase the one-time premium unlock, the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play or Apple App Store. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was made — no payment card details or billing addresses are ever shared with us.
We do not collect, store, or have access to:
Siléar Coffee does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the app.
The limited technical data we collect is used solely for:
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving the app.
All personal data (your bags, brews, notes, and photos) is stored in your device's local storage using Android's secure application sandbox. This data is:
We do not operate servers that store your coffee or brew data. There is no cloud sync in the current version of the app.
Any anonymous crash or analytics data that is transmitted to us is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections and stored securely, with access limited to the developer.
Siléar Coffee may use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy which governs how they handle data:
Used to deliver the app and process in-app purchases. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Used to receive anonymous crash reports. Only technical error data is transmitted — no personal content. If we use Firebase Crashlytics, it is subject to Google Firebase's Privacy Policy.
When you use the barcode scanning feature to look up a coffee bag, the barcode number may be sent to a third-party coffee product database to retrieve bag details. No personal information is transmitted alongside the barcode. If no match is found, you can fill in details manually.
We do not integrate any advertising networks, social media trackers, or data brokers into Siléar Coffee.
Siléar Coffee requests only the permissions it needs to function. Here is what each permission is used for:
Used for two purposes: scanning barcodes on coffee bags, and taking photos of your bags to add to the library. The camera is only active when you explicitly open the scanner or photo capture screen. We do not access your camera in the background.
Used to save bag photos you take in the app, and to save shareable brew card images to your device. We do not read or access other photos in your gallery.
Used to send you optional reminders when your equipment is due for cleaning. You are asked to opt in before we send any notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
All permissions can be revoked at any time via Settings → Apps → Siléar Coffee → Permissions on your Android device.
Siléar Coffee is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
In jurisdictions where the age of digital consent is higher (for example, 16 in certain EU member states), we comply with those applicable local laws.
Because almost all data in Siléar Coffee is stored only on your device, you already have direct and complete control over it:
To exercise any rights related to the limited anonymous data we may hold (such as crash logs), please contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with additional rights regarding your personal information.
Because Siléar Coffee does not sell personal information, does not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising, and stores all personal content only on your device, most CCPA provisions are satisfied by the nature of how the app works.
You have the right to:
To make a CCPA request, contact us at the address in the Contact section.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR applies to our processing of your personal data.
Where we process any personal data, we do so on the following legal bases:
If anonymous crash or analytics data is processed outside the EEA or UK (for example, on servers in the United States), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
Your personal coffee and brew data is stored on your device for as long as you use the app. We retain anonymous crash logs for a maximum of 12 months, after which they are automatically deleted.
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes — particularly any that expand the types of data we collect or how we use it — we will notify you through a notice within the app before the change takes effect.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Siléar Coffee after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this privacy policy or your data, please reach out:
We will respond to all privacy-related enquiries within 30 days.
If you are an EEA resident and are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to contact your local data protection authority.
